Well...it's officially began! Last night was my first nursing class. It was exciting and nerve-wrecking at the same time. For all of you who know me, I am pretty much consistently late for everything. Not extremely late (or course!) but usually late within a 10-20 min. margin. BUT the one thing that I refuse to be late for is school. I get something along the lines of panic attacks while I am on my way to school because God forbid that there is traffic...and then I'm a screaming mess, about to have a heart attack!
So, I left 1/2 hr. before class yesterday and I'm about 10-15 min from school. I made it in the nick of time, but I was the last one to enter the classroom. It was about 3:57 (class started at 4:00) and the teacher already took attendance, everyone handed in their homework...and I was scrambling for a seat! This is going to be a LONG semester:-)

This is one of my NEW books...it weight 7.8 pounds! That's almost a pound more than what Brady weighed when he was born. I should have very toned arms by the time this semester is through!

Hi Sarah,
Of course I don't mind! I'm glad you're enjoying my blog, and please feel free to comment away and leave any advice you have, as you can see, I'm new at this and have no clue what I'm doing! Newborns are tough! I have a whole new respect for single moms. Doing this on your own must have taken a lot of strength.
Thanks...that's a relief. I didn't want to see stalkerish:-) From what I read in your blog, you're doing a much better job than I was 5 years ago...oh and it goes by soooo fast! I keep telling Brady that he has to turn into Peter Pan and never grow up because it's so sad to see them get bigger. Can you tell I totally miss the baby stage?!?!
I'm not a nursing student, but I've had to take all of those medical classes including pathophysiology. Definitely interesting, but very draining. SO much to memorize. Sometimes it's hard to remember that all of the information you are required to learn really DOES come in handy one day. I'm learning that now with my internship. Good luck! I'm sure you will do great.
PS. Regarding your comment back to Alexis...are sure that's not just "Momnesia" talking? And by the way..."momnesia" is a real term...I just read a research article about it! Kidding aside...I miss the baby stage too, and I have a 1 year old! But I miss the snuggles with a dependent newborn...not so much the soreness or sleep deprivation.
I've been dreading Pathophysiology!!! But it's my last science class, so I'm hoping to just get through it. That's interesting about the "momnesia". I've never heard that term before so I googled it and found this article:
http://www.usatoday.com/news/health/2008-03-03-momnesia_N.htm
It's interesting and Alexis I think that this would pertain to you more since you're going through the infant/sleepless stage!
Wow - just looking at that book freaks me out. I took physiology in college and it was tough - adding a patho in front probably just makes it tougher!
Is it what you thought it would be or worse/better? You are so awesome for doing this and it will so be worth it when you're done!
